RECOMMENDED APPLICATORS
  • Use an applicator approved by Elanco. DO NOT use any other applicator.
  • Elanco 40mL applicator fitted with 6 hole T bar nozzle.
  • Genesis 60mL Power DoserTM fitted with a 6 hold T bar nozzle. Recommended operating pressure is 50-55 psi.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
  • Determine the correct dosage according to bodyweight. Avoid underdosing or overdosing.
  • Weigh a representative sample of animals before treatment.
  • Dose to the heaviest animal in each mob.
  • If there is a large variation in size within the group (e.g. lambs), draft the group into two or more mobs and apply the correct dose rate for each weight range.
  • Wear cotton overalls over normal clothing, buttoned to the neck and wrist and a washable hat, PVC or rubber apron, chemical-resistant gloves, water-resistant footwear and face shield/ goggles when using Viper.
  • Apply to cleanly-shorn sheep within seven days of shearing or to unshorn lambs from two weeks to two months of age.
  • Apply using either the Elanco 40 mL applicator fitted with a 6 hole T Bar nozzle or a 60 mL Genesis Power Doser fitted with a 6 hole T Bar nozzle. The recommended operating pressure of the Power Doser is 50–55 psi.
  • For sheep <30 kg bodyweight, apply as a single broadband stripe from the poll to tail butt (see diagram below).
  • For sheep >30 kg, apply half the dose as two broadband stripes from the mid-neck to the butt of the tail, no further than 10 cm apart (see diagram below).
  • Viper contains a scourable blue dye to identify treated sheep.
  • Check all sheep at the end of each race to ensure correct application.
  • Retreat any sheep that have been missed or incorrectly treated.
  • Heavy rainfall (50 mm in one hour) before treatment and/or moderate rainfall (12.5 mm in two hours and/or 25 mm in 24 hours) after treatment will not adversely affect lice control provided by Viper. However, it is good agricultural practice not to treat animals when they are wet or if rain is likely.
  • Do not rehandle sheep for four weeks after treatment, unless wearing protective clothing as per label instructions.
  • Rinse applicator and draw-off lines in water after each day’s use.

Always read the label directions before use
